The most famous of the many Lake Tahoe, California ski areas. Squaw Valley became a household name after hosting the 1960 Winter Olympics. Since then Squaw Valley has maintained its perch as an elite ski destination in the United States for is unmatched terrain and expansive slopes. With 4,000 skiable acres Squaw Valley is one of the largest Ski Resorts in the United States. In 2012 Squaw Valley expanded that to offer a joint ski pass with Alpine Meadows connecting the two canyons and providing over 6,200 skiable acres and a 2,850 foot vertical. Squaw Valley is notorious for its 2,000 ft vertical tram taking you from the main lodge to high camp which features a swimming pool, hot tubs, an ice rink, an Olympic museum and of course access to the many trails and lifts Squaw has.
