Located 5 miles from Lake Tahoe, CA this mountain is often considered in its big brother (Squaw Valley's) shadow. But don't be mistaken Alpine Meadows provides some of the most challenging and unique terrain in the Tahoe area. With over 7 open bowls, many chutes, steeps, and glades Alpine Meadows maximizes their 2,400 acres of skiable terrain. Alpine Meadows also offers convenience for "back-country" skiers and trekkers to reach the taller peaks nearby. With an average snowfall of 402 inches (12.41 meters) Alpine Meadows usually has the longest snow season of the Tahoe resorts.
