An artistic movement that arose in the 1960`s in Brazil. Musically, it is a merge of Brazillian and Africam rhythms mixed with Bossa nova, psychedelic pop, avant garde, rock and roll, and pop rock. This music, created by Caetano Veloso, and Gilberto Gil, expressed criticizing the soup de'etat of 1964. This music has influenced popular musicians such as David Byrne, Beck, Arto Lindsay.
