subordinate points
In digital photography, a subordinate point is a point whose placement is determined secondarily to other visual elements. Nonetheless, subordinate points can be crucial to how well an image works. For example, the elements that most strongly influence the composition of a full-length portrait will often be the linear elements, such as the limbs and torso. Even though the placement of the head will be subordinate to these elements, it still warrants special attention because the face is an important area of interest in a portrait. Moreover, in complex photographs, subordinate points will coexist with the dominant points or with lines and shapes.
