primary focal point

There can be more than just one focal point in a photograph. A photograph can have a primary focal point, a secondary focal point and even a third focal point. The primary focal point is the point which grabs the most attention from viewers in a photograph. At the same time, the primary focal point is the subject of the photograph. If the subject in a photograph is large and sharp while another element is slightly smaller in frame and soft in focus, the viewers most likely will look at the subject. By using leading lines (any line that directs the viewer’s eye), the photographer can direct the viewer from one focal point to another.
