A professional who sets up and operates variety of woodworking, metalworking, and plastic-working machines to fabricate component parts, and assembles parts to form miniature models of motor vehicle bodies and accessories, using handtools. Responsibilities include:

• Constructs parts, following blueprints, computer generated designs, photographs, and other specifications, using bench lathes, milling machine, drill press, planer, baking oven, grinder, files, chisels, and measuring instruments.
• Assembles completed parts to form desired unit, using handtools and abrasives.
• May paint and upholster completed bodies.
