Halo is a circular shape placed around the heads of holy persons in Christianity. It is usually of yellow or gold color and it represents the holiness of person in question. Christ usually (but not always) wears a halo with a cross in it, whereas saints and angels have plain halos. Western imagery has also utilized three dimensional halos, with halos being circular slabs hovering over or beyond saints.
