Part of the Executive Office of the President. The Cabinet departments help enforce the laws and policies of the federal government. The head of each department is a member of the President's Cabinet. The Cabinet departments are: the State Department ; the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Defense; the Justice Department; the Department of the Interior; the Department of Agriculture; the Commerce Department; the Labor Department; the Department of Housing and Urban Development; the Department of Transportation; the Department of Energy; the Department of Health and Human Services; Department of Education and Department of Veteran Affairs.
