Spartan is the new Microsoft web browser. The new light-weight browser will be shipped with Windows 10 alongside a backwards-compatible version of Internet Explorer 11. The new "Spartan" browser includes extension support, separate desktop and mobile versions, and utilizes Microsoft's Chakra Javascript engine and Trident page rendering engine. It has a look and feel similar to Chrome or Firefox. The Internet Explorer is approaching its 20th birthday in August 2015. whether the Spartan will overtake IE completely, leaving IE version 11 as the penultimate version or there would be a IE 12 version released with minimal changes is what time will tell.
