Open Scripting Architecture. A standard and extensible mechanism for interapplication communication in Mac OS X. Implemented by a number of Mac OS X frameworks and subframeworks, including the AE framework (which implements the Apple Event Manager) and the OpenScripting framework. Also includes the AppleScript component, which implements the AppleScript language.
