Manganese in the range of 1.65 to 2 percent is added to improve tensile strength,hardness,harden ability and hot workability of steel.Manganese steel with high carbon 1.1 to 1.4 percent and high manganese 11 ti 14 percent steel having excellent abrasion resistance in heat treated condition.
